For the Caregiver

75% of all caregivers are women* - US Department of Health & Human Services

Are you caring for an aging parent or a spouse?  Perhaps you're amongst the "sandwich generation" - caring for both parents AND your own children.  Have you had to cut back time from your own employment, or even leave your job due to caregiving responsibilities?

All of these needs can have life-altering consequences on your financial situation.  Many caregivers find themselves in a difficult dilemma: their sense of responsibility to provide care for loved ones, versus their financial ability to do so. Often caregivers are squeezed either way - their own financial resources may not be such to pay for the care for the ailing family member, yet the time required to provide that care personally results in having to reduce one's work time, diminishing resources as well. Many caregivers are forced to take the super-woman approach of trying to maintain full-time employment and spending all of their off-work time providing care, resulting in burn-out.

We help caregivers determine:

  • Are you using all the financial and/or care resources available to you?
  • Is there a way to restructure your finances to provide for some of the needs?
  • How can you better plan for your own future and possibility of care needs?
  • What will restructuring your employment situation mean to your financial future?

Finding answers to questions such as these may help to reduce the stress often found in a caregiver situation.
